స్వామి సచ్చిదానంద సూక్తి

Be Above Wants

“Most people want to be happy. So, what do they do? They start running after happiness by accumulating many things. After a while, they begin to realize that nothing fulfilled their ambition of being happy. There was temporary happiness, but that temporary happiness came with a lot of unhappiness before and a lot of unhappiness afterwards. In between, they saw a little happiness. They may even say: ‘I am sick and tired of all these things.’ When do they say that? When they begin to realize that nothing and nobody can ever give happiness. So learn to say, ‘I don’t want.’ That will make you above wants. And when you are above wants, you will always be happy and peaceful.

“God bless you. Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti.”
