సద్గురు శివానంద మూర్తి గారి సూక్తి

The Sadhak should be clear about the purpose of his Sadhana and must well remember this purpose through out. Then the mantra or whatever is in practice which starts at the mental level should and will permeate the realm of consciousness. Then it shall be fulfilled.

హిందూ ధర్మం - 243 (14 లోకాలు)

మన పురాణాల్లో చతుర్దశ భువనాల (14 లోకాల) ప్రస్తావన ఉంది. పురాణాలు బ్రహ్మాండాన్ని కొన్ని లోకాలుగా విభజించాయి. ఇవన్నీ విరాట్‌పురుషుని (విశ్వరూపుని) శరీరంలోని అవయవాలని వేదం చెప్తోంది. భాగవతం రెండవ స్కంధంలో ఈ లోకాల గురించి వర్ణన ఉంది. మొత్తం పదునాలుగు లోకాలనీ, వాటిలో ఊర్ధ్వలోకాలు (పైనున్నవి) ఏడు, అధోలోకాలు (క్రిందనున్నవి) ఏడు అనీ చెబుతుంది భాగవత పురాణం.

లోకాల విభజన గురించి భాగవతంలో ఇలా చెప్పబడింది.

బ్రహ్మాండంలో కొన్ని అంతరాలున్నాయి. తత్వ పదార్ధాల సూక్ష్మ, సూక్ష్మతర అవస్థలను బట్టి ఈ భేదాలు ఏర్పడుతున్నాయి. క్రింది లోకాల కంటే పై లోకాలలో తత్వ పదార్ధాలు సూక్ష్మతరంగా ఉంటాయి. లోకాలు మూడని కొందరు, ఏడని కొందరు, పదునాల్గని కొందరు అంటుంటారు. లోకాలను బ్రహ్మాండ శరీరానికి అవయవాలుగా భావిస్తే

మొదటి భావన ప్రకారం విరాట్ పురుషుని కటి (మొల) నుండి పైభాగం ఏడు అవయవాలుగా, క్రింది భాగం ఏడు అవయవాలుగా మొత్తం పదునాల్గులోకాలు.

రెండవ భావన ప్రకారం భూలోకం పాదాలు, భువర్లోకం నాభి, సువర్లోకం హృదయం, మహర్లోకం ఉరోభాగం, జనలోకం కంఠం, తపోలోకం పెదవులు, బ్రహ్మలోకం మూర్ధంగా బ్రహ్మాండ శరీరానికి అవయవాలు రూపొందాయి.

మూడవ భావన ప్రకారం భూలోకం పాదాలు, భువర్లోకం నాభి, స్వర్లోకం శిరస్సుగా మూడే లోకాలు ఉన్నాయి.
బ్రహ్మాండపురుషుడే సమస్త లోకాలను భరిస్తాడు, పోషిస్తాడు, తనలో లయం చేసుకొంటాడు.

ఊర్ధ్వలోకాలు

1. భూలోకం - సముద్రాలు, పర్వతాలు, నదీనదలాతో మానవులు, పక్షులు, జంతువులు మొదలైన జీవులతో సూర్యచంద్రుల కిరాణలతో వెలిగే లోకం. ఎందరో జీవులు నివసిస్తున్న కొన్ని కోట్ల లోకాల్లో ఈ భూలోకం ఒకటి మాత్రమేనని, ఇంకా ఇలాంటి తెలియని లోకాలు ఎన్నో ఉన్నాయని విష్ణుపురాణం చెబుతోంది.
2. భువర్లోకం - భూలోకానికి పైన ఉండేది, సామాన్య మానవుడు వెళ్ళలేనిది. ఇక్కడ సిద్ధులు మొదలైన ఇతరలోక జీవులు నివసిస్తారు. భూలోకం ఎంత వైశాల్యం ఉంటుందో, ఇది అంతే వైశాల్యం ఉంటుంది. పితృదేవతలు కూడా ఈ లోకంలోనే ఉంటారని కొన్ని గ్రంథాల్లో కనిపిస్తుంది. 
3. సువర్లోకం - భువర్లోకానికి పైన ఉండేది. ఇంద్రుడు మొదలైన దేవతలుండే లోకం. దీనినే స్వర్గం అని కూడా అంటారు.  
4. మహర్లోకం - సువర్లోకానికి పైన ఉండేది. మహాత్ములైన ఋషులు, మునులు నివసించే లోకం. ఈ లోక వాసులు బ్రహ్మ కల్పానికి సమానమైన జీవిత కాలం కలిగి ఉంటారు. 
5. జనలోకం - మహర్లోలోకానికి పైన ఉండేది. బ్రహ్మ మానస పుత్రులైన సనక, సనందన, సనత్కుమార, సనత్సుజాతాలు, శుద్ధమనస్కులైన ఇతర జీవులు ఉండే లోకం. 
6. తపోలోకం - జనలోకానికి పైన ఉండేది. నిప్పు చేత కూడా దహించబడిన వైభ్రాజులు, అయోనిజులు ఉండే లోకం. 
7. సత్యలోకం - తపోలోకానికి పైన ఉండేది. బ్రహ్మదేవుడు నివసించే లోకం. కొన్ని గ్రంథాల ప్రకారం ఇదే పరమపదము. కానీ కొన్ని గ్రంథాల ప్రకారం దీనికి పైన వైకుంఠం ఉంటుందని వర్ణించబడింది. భోగబుద్ధితో కాక త్యాగబుద్ధితో జీవించి, కర్మలను భగవంతునికి అర్పించిన మహాపురుషులు, సాధకులు, అంతిమకాలంలో ఈ లోకానికి వెళ్ళి, ఇక్కడున్న బ్రహ్మదేవుని నుంచి ఆత్మజ్ఞానం పొంది, పరబ్రహ్మంలో ఐక్యమవుతారని కైవల్యోపనిషత్తు మొదలనవి చెప్తున్నాయి.
