రుద్రాక్ష జాబాల ఉపనిషత్తు 3
శివ భక్తుడైన వాడు ఎల్లవేళలా అంటే, తింటున్న, తిరుగుతున్నా, పడుకున్నా, శిఖ చుట్టూ, చెవులకు, భుజములకు , ఉదరము చుట్టూ రుద్రాక్షలను తప్పక ధరించవలెను. భక్తుడు 300 రుద్రాక్షలు ధరించిన అది అధమము. 500 మధ్యమము, 1000 ఉత్తమమోత్తమము.
రుద్రాక్షలను తల యందు ధరించునపుడు, ఇష్ట మంత్రమును, మెడ చుట్టూ ధరించునపుడు తత్పురుష మంత్రమును, కంఠము నందు ధరించునపుడు అఘోర మంత్రమును స్మరణ చేయుచుండవలెను. ఛాతి యందు ధరించునపుడు కూడాను, అఘోర మంత్రమును స్మరించవలెను. భుజముల యందు ధరించునపుడు అఘోర బీజ మంత్రమును స్మరించ వలెను.
మరల భూశండుడు కాలాగ్ని రుద్రుని రుద్రాక్షల యొక్క వివిధ రూపములు, ప్రభావముల గురించి చెప్పవలసినదిగా ప్రార్ధించెను. రుద్రాక్షలకు కల పలు ముఖముల గురించి, వాటిని ఉపయోగించి, దోషములను పోగొట్టుకొనుట గురించి ప్రశ్నించెను.
కాలాగ్ని రుద్రుడు ఇట్లు చెప్పసాగెను.: ఏకముఖము కల రుద్రాక్ష అఖండ సత్యమునకు ప్రతీక. ఇంద్రియములను జయించిన మానవుడు, ఈ ఏకముఖి రుద్రాక్షను ధరించుట వలన శాశ్వతమైన సత్యమునందు తనను తాను లయము చేసుకోనును.

A Siva-Bhakta should wear Rudrakshas round his crown, ear-ring, chain, round the ear, armlet, at all times, and specially round the stomach, irrespective of the fact whether he is sleeping, drinking, etc.
If the devotee wears three hundred beads, it is the worst, if he wears five hundred it will be medium, but one thousand will be the best of all.
The devotee, when wearing Rudrakshas on the head, should repeat his Ishta Mantra, and when wearing them round the neck, should repeat the Tat-Purusha Mantra and when wearing round the throat, should repeat the Aghora Mantra. The same Mantra (Aghora) should be recited when wearing round the chest also.
He should wear them round the arms with the Aghora Bija Mantra.
Then again Bhusunda asked Lord Kalagnirudra: What are the different forms and effects of Rudraksha beads? Please tell me about the secret of these blessed ones including their various faces, which is the means of getting rid of all evil.
Lord Kalagnirudra said: The bead with one face is of the form of the Supreme Truth. A disciplined one (controlling his senses) mingles himself with the one Eternal Truth, after wearing these Rudrakshas.
